The Happy Day Christian Kindergarten (HDCK) is an initiative of the Christian Reformed Church of Charlottetown,
Prince Edward Island, and has been in operation since 1979. Kindergarten operation falls under the regulation of the provincial authority, and therefore follows provincial regulations such as staff/child ratios and maximum
enrollment numbers. The Kindergarten is managed by a Board of Trustees.

Our Facilities
Our multi-area facility consists of 2 classrooms, a playroom, a gym, piano room, outdoor playground, sledding hill, and more. Our facility is equipped with an elevator. Other adaptations are made as needed to accommodate special needs.
Activities
We offer many activities to the children in our program, including arts and crafts, singing, playground and outdoor play, gym, books, computer, games, toys, puzzles, field trips and skating. Social interactive skills are purposely taught in the context of all these activities.
 Interdenominational Christian activities consist of bible stories, songs, memory verses and prayers.
Special events include a Thanksgiving Celebration, Christmas Program, Mother’s Day Tea, and Closing Program.
School Readiness Program
Our program includes letters, numbers, shapes, colours, days and months, social skills, problem-solving skills, and more.
We are implementing the full Provincial Kindergarten program for Language Arts and Math, with science and health units and theme studies of our own.
We also offer a Pre-Kindergarten program for 4-year olds.
Teacher Qualifications
Our teachers confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and actively serve Him daily. All staff has teaching degrees and/or Early Childhood Certification and First-Aid. Teachers are special needs sensitive.

We are now accepting registrations for the 2008/2009 school year, for
both our 4 year old (pre-kindergarten) and 5 year old (kindergarten)
programs.
